Palletways tree planting pledge takes root

Ecologi

Palletways UK has teamed up with climate action platform, Ecologi, to aid its corporate social responsibility as a transport firm by funding the planting of trees across the globe.

For every Palletways Online order or verified Trustpilot review, Palletways UK has pledged to fund the planting of one tree by one of Ecologi’s partners in its global project sites.

Ecologi, a social enterprise dedicated to reversing climate change through responsible reforestation and verified carbon avoidance projects, launched in 2019. Since then, 51 million trees have been funded for planting and over 2.3 million tonnes of CO2e have been avoided from entering our atmosphere.

By teaming up with Ecologi, Palletways UK is supporting projects that are in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Each project supported by Ecologi comes with its own detailed project description, and emphasises which of the UN’s sustainable development goals it is working towards.

To date, Palletways UK has funded the planting of more than 2,000 trees in several forestry projects globally, with each tree visible in their virtual forest.

Rob Gittins, managing director for Palletways UK, said: “We are aware that the industry in which we operate has and continues to have an impact on the environment, which is why we are taking steps to address the issue.

“Reforestation is widely understood to be a major climate solution and one of the best ways to tackle the climate crisis is by planting trees. By doing so, we are able to improve biodiversity and the provision of ecosystem services in these areas, which in turn supports local communities. This is just one of our initiatives to help lower our impact on the environment.”

Customers can use Palletways Online to book their pallet delivery within the UK or Europe covering a floor space within 100cm wide and 120cm deep.
