Palletways Member accepts Christmas charity mission

Montgomery Distribution

Palletways member, Montgomery Distribution, is supporting Cash for Kids Northern Ireland as it strives to improve the lives of children and young people in Northern Ireland this festive season.

Cash for Kids’ ‘Mission Christmas’ campaign is designed to help Santa reach children living in poverty. As part of the appeal, supporters can take a new and unwrapped gift to one of the charity’s drop-off points, donate cash or gifts online, or get involved with fundraising.

Throughout December, Montgomery Distribution will collect and deliver presents across Northern Ireland using two of its ‘Mission Christmas’-branded vehicles. In addition, more than 20 of its employees are spending a day volunteering, sorting and packing presents for those in need and the team is also organising a host of fundraisers to help swell the charity’s coffers.

Steven McBride, Managing Director at Montgomery Distribution, hopes to raise £1,500 to help fund many children’s Christmases: “Due to the cost-of-living crisis, heating or eating is a real choice for so many families this winter and Christmas is something they simply can’t afford. Every child deserves a Christmas so it’s our mission to make sure that a child who’s at risk of waking up to nothing on Christmas Day will have something to open.

“All of the money we raise will stay in the local community to help alleviate poverty, support disability and improve many children’s quality of life. I hope our staff, customers and suppliers donate to help this great cause and those most in need this Christmas.”

Since launching in 1970 with just one tractor unit, family-owned and operated Montgomery Distribution has continued to grow and now operates across sites in Belfast, Leeds, Preston and Rugby, with a fleet in excess of 250 vehicles and 900 trailers. Montgomery Distribution became a member of Palletways in 2002 after adding a pallet distribution division, which has grown to become a £20m per year business.
