Freight Forwarder (Solutions Co-Ordinator) - Palletways Birmingham

Reporting to the Depot Manger – Operations the main responsibility of the role incumbent is the Co-ordination of UK & EU Non-Network express shipments (export and imports). Responsible for all aspects of the shipment; point of sale, quotes, costings/profitability, booking and invoicing.

This role is based at Palletways Birmingham, Fradley Distribution Park, Wood End Ln, Lichfield, WS13 8NE

Key Duties:

• Confirming collections and deliveries, monitoring of same-day shipments.
• Problem-solve for customer
• Responding to direct and department emails
• Liaising closely with clients, branch offices, international agents, and transportation providers
• Provide exceptional Customer Service
• Use internal software to manage cost and revenue

Candidates must have strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, be able to work collaboratively and have a degree of flexibility within their schedule.

Sufficient experience in dealing with express or time-critical shipments, and strong organizational skills.

There is operational and sales role dealing with all aspects of the freight forwarding cycle, so start to finish process experience is essential

Industry & operational knowledge of import/export and groupage would be advantageous but not essential.

Hours of work will be 40 per week, with a rotating start time depending on the operational needs.
