A haulage firm in Kilmarnock has received a national award in recognition of its outstanding performance, just one year after joining the UK’s largest and most trusted pallet network.

PPS Logistics (PPS) based at 11 Simonsburn Road, which is part of the Palletways UK network, received Palletways’s Platinum Award at the logistic giant’s recent national conference.

The team received the award for operational excellence, presented in recognition of their ability to deliver the highest level of service to the network and their customers over the last six months.

The Platinum Award focuses on Palletways’ core deliverables and operational culture which each member in the network is measured by.

Andrew Muir, managing director, said: “The Platinum Award recognises the very best companies within Palletways’ UK network and is presented to those members that excel in the service delivery field. We are delighted to have achieved Platinum Club status which is testament to the hard work of our staff to maintain and improve our levels of service and efficiency. It also shows our customers they can expect the very best in transportation and logistics from us.”

Rob Gittins, managing director at Palletways UK, added: “Providing customers with a fast, reliable and efficient service is our top priority, and these awards highlight the dedication of the team at PPS who have gone above and beyond to meet the stringent of standards. It has been great to look back at their performance over the last six months and a pleasure to present them with this coveted award.”

Hot on the heels of the Platinum Award comes the appointment of David Lyons who joins PPS to focus on customer account management to grow the pallet delivery business in Ayrshire, Paisley and Glasgow. Andrew added: “Our pallet proposition has experienced tremendous growth over the past year which has strengthened our business. Having a dedicated business development manager in place is crucial to ensure we can continue to look after our existing customers and help us secure new contracts.

“David joins PPS with a wealth of experience in logistics, from parcels to pallets and European freight but central to his success will be his keenness to provide a first-class service to our customers and building relationships with key stakeholders. David has already fitted in well with our team and I’m sure he’ll allow us to further grow PPS in the coming years.”
