Bicester-based transport and distribution company Darcica Logistics, a member of Palletways UK’s express palletised freight network, has been recognised for a consecutive year in the Oxfordshire Business Awards (OXBA), this time with a trio of awards.
The awards reward and promote the excellence of Oxfordshire-based companies. Darcica’s director Anthony Tattersall was presented with The James Cowper Kreston, Business Person of The Year Award whilst the business received the accolades of The Thomas Franks Ltd Business of the Year Award and The Oxfordshire LEP, New Business Award. It was also a finalist for the Oxford Brookes Business School, Purposeful Business Award.
Launched in July 2020, Darcica is a family-owned business whose name is created from Anthony’s daughters, Darcey and Jessica. The ‘Darcica’ brand is built around family values, customer service and care for the environment. The company provides parcel and pallet collections, deliveries and sustainable fulfilment services. Despite being a small business in a high-impact sector like the transport industry, carbon reductions play a big part in everything it does.
The judges were impressed with Darcica’s growth and expansion, its support for and investment in its people, its charity and community involvement and its overall commitment to sustainability.
Director, Anthony Tattersall comments: “I’m honoured and delighted to receive these awards on behalf of Darcica. Together, all three recognise the hard work of the whole team, we simply couldn’t do it without their support and commitment. Darcica continues to go from strength to strength, employing three people initially to a now team of 25. Our strategy to work in partnership with our customers and suppliers, currently approximately 40 local businesses across Oxfordshire, aims to improve the local economy and environment and create profit with a purpose.”
Commenting, Warwick Trimble, UK Network Director for Palletways, said: “Darcica has made a significant contribution to the strength of our network since joining as a member – delivering two million parcels and 20,000 pallets in the last year alone. They’re hugely deserving of these accolades and set an excellent example to companies - old or young, local or national – about attitude, vision and values.”
